Terms of Service
EFFECTIVE 18 JULY 2026
The short version
Clique is a shared disposable camera: a host creates a roll, guests shoot on it, and everyone sees the photos when the roll develops. Your photos stay yours. Be decent to the people on your roll, and keep your own copies of photos you care about. Using Clique means you agree to these terms with Story Goes AB, the Swedish company behind Clique; our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Who can use Clique
You need to be at least 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and if you’re under 18 you should have a parent or guardian’s permission. Hosts create an account with Sign in with Apple; guests join a roll without an account. You’re responsible for what happens through your account and for keeping access to it secure.
Your photos
You own the photos you shoot. So we can run the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store your photos, deliver and display them to the people on your roll (and on album pages the host shares), and keep backup copies — solely to operate and improve Clique, never to advertise with, sell, or train anything on.
Shooting on a roll means the people on that roll can see, save, and share your photos once it develops, and the host can share the developed album by link if they choose. Hosts and guests may use each other’s photos for personal purposes — memories, not marketing. Using someone else’s photo commercially needs their permission.
The host of a roll can remove any photo from its album, and you can delete your own photos at any time. When you delete a photo or your account, our license to it ends and we delete it, except that developed albums already shared with guests stay with them (with your account scrubbed), as described in the Privacy Policy.
House rules
When you use Clique, you agree not to:
- break the law, or upload content you don’t have the right to share;
- upload content that’s abusive, hateful, pornographic, or that harasses or exploits anyone — especially minors;
- impersonate someone else or join rolls you weren’t invited to;
- interfere with the service — no scraping, reverse engineering, probing, or overloading our systems.
Hosts can remove photos — or a guest — from their own rolls, and anyone can report a photo in the app or by emailing us. Reports go to the host of that roll and to us, without naming who reported. If something breaks these rules, we can take the content down or close the account behind it.
Purchases
Larger roll sizes are one-time in-app purchases billed by Apple under Apple’s terms — we never see your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple through their standard process, including the EU’s 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases, which you exercise through Apple as the merchant of record. If a purchase didn’t credit your roll because something went wrong on our side, email us and we’ll make it right.
Not a backup service
Clique is for sharing a moment, not archiving it. Save photos you care about to your own library — we work hard not to lose anything, but we’re not a backup service and you shouldn’t treat us as the only copy of something irreplaceable.
The service
We provide Clique “as is”. We may add, change, or remove features, and we can’t promise the service will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of any kind.
If something goes wrong
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including lost photos (see “Not a backup service”) — and our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or the rights mandatory consumer law gives you — those can’t be signed away.
Copyright complaints
If you believe a photo on Clique infringes your copyright, email us with the photo, where you found it, and proof of your rights, and we’ll take it down where the complaint checks out.
Ending things
You can stop using Clique anytime and delete your account in the app (Profile → Privacy → Delete account). We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. What happens to your data either way is described in the Privacy Policy.
The App Store
Clique is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and Apple’s own terms also apply to your download and purchases. Apple isn’t responsible for the service and has no obligations to you regarding Clique.
Governing law
These terms are an agreement between you and Story Goes AB, org. nr 559396-8836, registered in Stockholm, Sweden. Swedish law governs them, and disputes go to the Swedish courts — but if you use Clique as a consumer elsewhere in the EU, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your home country and the right to bring a claim in your home courts. Email us first; almost everything is fixable faster that way.
Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app; using Clique after they take effect means you accept them.
